This week is not only about What’s On but also What do you know? Because …There’s a special Mill event on Friday 14 October  – a Fifth Anniversary edition of the ever-popular Mill Quiz. Places for teams of 4 are limited – and going fast – so make sure to read all about it below and book your place.

Everyone is welcome Tuesday-Friday from 10am-6pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 10am-2pm. You can borrow a book from the honesty library, bring your little ones to enjoy all the toys in the playroom, make a cuppa and have a chat – and we also have leaflets, flyers and posters on display so you can find out what else is going on throughout Waltham Forest.

image (1)On Tuesday-Friday, and Saturday and Sunday you can view the new exhibition on the walls of the living-room – Tales From the Marsh which unearths the magnetic pull of Walthamstow and Leyton Marshes in this collage of local people’s narratives, reminiscence, poetry, artwork and photographs. The exhibition will continue until early December.

Monday 10 October (evening only and booking required)

yogapose68786pm-7pm – Gentle Yoga – Learn some gentle healing poses and relaxation techniques, which you can also do safely at home. Classes are small (up to 8 students), so you will get plenty of individual attention. £10 drop in or £9 with a loyalty card. 7pm-8.30pm – Ashtanga Yoga – This class is also led by Josetta who specialises in teaching beginners this dynamic style of yoga, but all levels are catered for.Regular students buy ten week loyalty cards for a discounted £10 per class. Drop-ins are also welcome, space permitting for £11. This class is for anyone with little or no experience of either yoga or Ashtanga yoga, as well as for those who wish to develop their practice. Make your mark - drawing course in Walthamstow for all abilities7pm-9pm – Make Your Mark –The second in a course of four drawing classes. There are sometimes places available for those who have not previously attended. acupuncture needles4pm-7pm – Community Acupuncture Clinic – This community clinic offers low cost, professional acupuncture treatments making treatments affordable to everyone . Esol Wordle10am-2pm – Community Voices – A programme of ESOL, aimed at migrant women of all backgrounds who want to integrate into their community, train as a volunteer, run local community events and gain an ESOL speaking qualification. radio2pm-5pm – Mill Radio – A small group that meets at the Mill to make recorded programmes for podcast (distribution on the Internet) and distribution by means of free CDs at the Mill reception desk. Our aim is to explore issues that matter to local people, give a platform to local creative talent and engage in informal chat about all our lives, interests and opinions. family310.30am-11.30am – Stay, play and protest – is an informal drop-in for parents and their children with a twist – we’ll be talking about things that make our lives difficult and how as a group we can make them better.
